Meet the Women's Impact Network at Cohesity Hero Banner

March is Women’s History Month –  a month dedicated to celebrating women and their achievements around the world. At Cohesity, our Cohesians are spending this month honoring, discussing, and educating themselves about the ongoing contributions of women, both in the workplace and throughout global society with the help of our Women’s Impact Network, an Employee Resource Group for women and allies at Cohesity. At Cohesity, our Cohesians are spending this month honoring, discussing, and educating themselves about the ongoing contributions of women, both in the workplace and throughout global society with the help of our Women’s Impact Network, an Employee Resource Group for women and allies at Cohesity.

The Women’s Impact Network (WIN) officially launched last year with the mission of celebrating our unique differences and prioritizing hiring, developing, and retaining our female talent across the organization. WIN also provides the opportunity for members to collaborate, connect, and professionally grow in a safe space where all women can thrive.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we’re shining a light on three leaders within our Women’s Impact Network—Seçil Bilgiç, Courtney Glubo, and Alyse Okumura—to learn about who they are, why they chose to become a leader of this employee resource group, and what excites them most about the future of WIN at Cohesity.

What is your role here at Cohesity?

I am a member of Cohesity’s commercial legal team. I draft and negotiate tech transactions, which include our ‘master license and support agreements’ with our customers, agreements with our channel and alliance partners and vendor agreements with our vendors. I also oversee the privacy compliance of our company, which means that I ensure that our agreements and our practices are in line with the applicable data privacy laws.

What’s one thing about you that most Cohesians might not know?

In the past, I worked for several nonprofit organizations in Turkey, including one helping women facing domestic violence.

Why did you choose to co-lead our WIN employee resource group?

For two reasons. First, I wanted to become part of a movement that is dedicated to creating a workplace culture of inclusivity, respect, and support for women. I am passionate about gender equality and wary of implicit gender bias. I am committed to doing my part to ensure that our industry is an environment that fosters career growth and professional development for women. Second, it seemed like a great opportunity to meet the wonderful women of Cohesity. I have a lot to learn from each woman at Cohesity, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to meet with so many of them through WIN.

What are you most excited about the Women’s Impact Network?

A lot of things! Our networking events, our mentoring program, our International Women’s Day, and Women’s History Month events… I’m excited about anything and everything on WIN’s agenda!

What specifically about Cohesity makes it a great place for women to thrive?

We have a strong focus on providing equal opportunities and resources to help women reach their professional goals. The amazing women in leadership at Cohesity can attest to this.

Courtney Glubo HeadshotCourtney Glubo, Senior Recruiter / AMER WIN Co-Lead

What is your role here at Cohesity?

I help Cohesity to hire top sales talent by partnering with hiring managers and potential Cohesians to evaluate and enable the best job/candidate matches possible.

What’s one thing about you that most Cohesians might not know?

I was a competitive dancer from the age of six all the way through college.

Why did you choose to co-lead our WIN employee resource group?

As a mother, I believe my contribution to the WIN Employee Resource Group is ultimately helping create a more equitable world for my daughter. It’s my welcomed responsibility to help elevate and enable women in Cohesity to be their full and best selves in the workplace.

What are you most excited about the Women’s Impact Network?

There is nothing more empowering than watching a group of women come together to genuinely support and grow each other – WIN provides chances for women to share ideas as well as educational opportunities to allow for continuous growth and development and that is something where I believe each of us can both contribute and benefit.

What specifically about Cohesity makes it a great place for women to thrive?

I have worked in many environments in my career that truly felt like “the old boys club” and it made paving my way as a woman that much more difficult – but not here. From the moment I joined, I felt fully supported and treated as an equal and if anything, given additional opportunities to grow. As a result, I have grown more in my role and in my career here at Cohesity in the last year and a half than in any of my prior organizations.

Alyse Okumura HeadshotAlyse Okumura, Director, Field Marketing / AMER WIN Co-Lead

What is your role here at Cohesity?

I help drive our sales pipeline through marketing activities that align with our company campaigns and messaging.

What’s one thing about you that most Cohesians might not know?

I’m a certified yoga instructor. Yoga is an important way for me to recharge my body, stretch, and center myself through breath and movement.

Why did you choose to co-lead our WIN employee resource group?

I have been with Cohesity for five years and was one of the original team members to start the grassroots women’s resource group in our early days. It was important to me to stay involved and continue the momentum that was started four+ years ago. It’s humbling to witness and be a part of the evolution of our Women’s Resource Group, by providing more opportunities for connection and lifting up fellow Cohesians.

What are you most excited about the Women’s Impact Network?

I’m excited about our program’s growth potential and impact on the women within Cohesity. As mentioned above, for me it’s exciting to watch the growth of the group and have Executive-level support coupled with a foundational program structure, so that it WIN resource group can thrive.

What specifically about Cohesity makes it a great place for women to thrive?

We are fortunate to have strong support system and a leadership team who are advocates for more female leaders. Ever since I started at Cohesity, I have felt supported from my direct managers and cross-functional leaders to push myself. Last year, my leadership team recognized my potential, and I was fortunate to be a part of a Leadership cohort coaching program.
