We are seeking a highly motivated and outstanding IP paralegal to join the Cohesity in-house Legal team and grow with the IP and Product (IPP) function as the company grows. Reporting to the VP of IP Legal, this is a multi-faceted role where you will work closely with various stakeholders on key strategic initiatives and programs and have the opportunity to be creative, make a big impact, and add immediate value.
Your primary focus will be assisting the IP and Product team in protecting the company’s IP, including patents, trademarks, open source software, copyrights and trade secrets.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE
Assist with management of our Patent Management System and associated processes.
Promote IP program through events, recognition programs, and awards
Assist in managing and coordinating various IP trainings
Generate IP related reports for strategic decision making and tracking.
Assist with IP Budget projections and spend tracking.
Collaborate with legal operations to acquire, configure and rollout technologies that increase the team’s efficiency and value to the business
Assist with defining, documenting, and maintaining IP processes.
Develop positive, strong, and collaborative relationships with multiple cross-functional partners (e.g., Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Outside counsel, other Legal teams) to accelerate the team's effectiveness and ability to deliver on sophisticated, cross-functional tasks.
WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years working as a paralegal in the area of patents, including in-house experience
Experience with Anaqua Intellectual Property Management System (IPMS)
Familiarity with trademark, IP transactions, open source software and copyright a plus
Experience with establishing in-house IP processes, systems, and tools
Technical savvy – must have strong computer skills, including with office productivity software (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Drive, etc.) and be open to exploring new technical tools to help the Team
Familiarity with Project Management and reporting tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, PowerBI, etc.)
Ability to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently to get the job done
Must be very detail-oriented, process-driven and highly organized
Superb written and verbal communication skills
Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.
Pay Range :
The compensation noted above is based on an annualized hourly rate assuming normal full-time employment.
